Ruddock showing interest in Strange
AFTER seeing Bristol's Jason Strange do his level best to kick his side to victory over Worcester Warriors at the Memorial Stadium, Mike Ruddock revealed he would be interested in bringing the veteran fly-half to Sixways.
The 34-year-old slotted seven penalties from eight attempts in the Warriors' 22-21 Guinness Premiership success and almost snatched the victory for his side with the last kick of the game only to see his drop-goal attempt charged down by Craig Gillies.
Despite the player's advancing years, the Sixways' director of rugby said he'd be keen to add Strange to his squad.
Ruddock said: "Jason Strange had a great game for Bristol and kept slotting those penalty goals when he got the chances.
"Jason is a good player and I worked with him before at Ebbw Vale - if he is out of contract, we would consider him as we would with any other player who is out of contract.
"We are still debating the fly-half position and haven't finalised anything yet. But, if he's available, we would consider him."
